Developmental conversations often discuss the sensory-motor system, and for good reason. Our sensory-motor system literally develop us. Without our senses, our ability to think, organize our thoughts, regulate emotions, and conceive of a future would not be possible. These senses are mostly referred to as the following: Vision (Seeing), Auditory (Hearing and Listening), Olfactory (Smell), Gustatory (Taste), Tactile (Touch), Proprioceptive (Body Sense), Vestibular (Balance), and Interoception (Internal Regulation).Â
